The healthcare reform bill was passed!!!!!! President Obama will sign it into law on Tuesday. It is projected to extend insurance coverage to roughly 32 millions Americans who don't have it. Most Americans will now be required to have health insurance or pay a fine. Large employers will be required to provide coverage or they will also risk receiving a financial penalty. Lifetime coverage limits will be BANNED & insurers are NOT ALLOWED to deny coverage based on age or pre-existing conditions. In a previous post I mentioned a separate compromise package that has to be voted on separate from the bill. This package of additions with increase the cost of the bill but The Senate can't begin voting on that until AFTER tuesday. ;) I am so excited about this victory & so proud of Obama! Since day one people have had something to say about they way he's done things. I'm glad he didn't budge on this bill & give into the criticism. Those same people that were & still are complaining will be the ones taking advantage of the reform the most.
